Argh! Kept forgetting to return library books!

What the heck is wrong with me!?
I now owe $2.50 - again.
First I forgot and owed 50 cents. I quickly renewed it online (yup, I can do it online even after its overdue), but then I forgot about them again. Bad memory? Laziness? Stupidity!?
So yeah after I renewed it online, for whatever reason I put them away under my desk… and er, forgot about them. Stupidity sounds about right…
$2.50. Sigh.
That could have bought me half of a small popcorn at the theater.

I’ve spent a few years working at a library, and here are two ideas that patrons have mentioned:
-Go to the library the same day every week (or every other week/month, etc.). Then (assuming you actually bring everything), it’s easier to remember in time.
-My library sends out pre-overdue notices. Not all libraries do this, but you can replicate it by setting up a reminder on your PIM software or an online service.

Haha, I’ve only gotten dinged for 50 cents so far. Whenever you happen to go to the library’s website, click on ‘Renew’. I renew my books almost every day, it just extends the due date another day. I think I’ve had some of these books for 4 months…

yeah I know I’m being silly lately.
the library actually called me! I had these books for like 3 months now, they wanted to know whats going on.

Although I hate overdue fees, I feel like my money is going to a good cause. I just wish my library carried more business/investment-related books. There’s entirely way too much fiction for my tastes.

I hate that too. I try to keep our library books organized.
It is when we are late on returning movies to the library they change a $1.00 a day.

oh wow. $1.00 a day, I guess it can’t be help though, much better than Blockbuster’s “late fee”
