Even if a freeze was imposed on your account, certain government agencies, some insurers, and companies you already did business with can still access your credit reports. Also, a freeze will not stop negative data like delayed payments from being entered into your credit profile. Likewise, a freeze cannot shield your accounts from getting damaged.

Some important things remember about credit freeze:
	•	Start a freeze right away with all credit bureaus if you feel that you are being victimized by identity theft.

	•	If you’re applying for any loan or credit, do not initiate a freeze yet.

	•	If you want to lift the freeze temporarily, give it enough time and check that the companies you want to deal with have not been blocked.

	•	Always keep in mind that even if your account is put into freeze, you still need to check on it at least once a year to avert any suspicious transactions.

By having a power of attorney you can make request a credit freze on his behalf, just send all of his information i.e. (name, date of birth, etc) along with a copy of the power of attorney, if that doesn't work then file a motion in court requesting the credit freeze, for the above mentioned reasons. Hope this helps.
