You can get a FREE credit report (from the 3 major agencies) from annualcreditreport.com. Its owed to you by law. Mind you if you want your FICO score you will have to pay more, however this allows you access to all reporting made so you can clear up discrepancies. Financial Independence FOR ALL!

mycreditinform.com costs only 4.99 a month, and gives you your credit score and report whenever you want it. Although it only updates quartely.

FICO scores are still rather expensive though, even if you need them prior to a large loan as those mentioned. I believe they recently upped the price too…
