try working in retail putting up with people for these two systems is ridiculous… We didn’t have either instock at all(ps3,wii) but still received hundreds upon hundreds of people calling and visiting the store to find these game systems. most people understood and the others just left me pissed an tired of there griping.

i believe the eBay prices were making people greedy to make their profit for the holidays..

Most of the crowd I beleive fighting to get the first PS3 is mainly so they can be the first to sell it on Ebay.

In that case it makes since. If I know I will make a $1000 profit it may be worth camping out.

But like Chris said in an earlier post. The people that buy it off ebay or the true idiots.

A new IKEA store opened in Austin, TX. These suckaz waiting for PS3 got nothing on me waiting in line to get a bookcase, bedsheets, and rugs for my new apartment. We all wait in lines for crap we want/need. It’s all about NOT being a jackass while you’re doing it.

You have to understand who ever has one first is the coolest on the block.
The parents that show their love to kids with material things are the desperate ones paying the high ebay prices.
This has been going on with video game system snice the first Playstation they create a false demand to hype up the system. The best free advertising you can get.

ahahahahahahahaha @ getting one in another 1 to 2 months. That’s some of the funniest shit I’ve read this weekend.

If they want to pay $2000+ on ebay yes they can get it in a few months.

You forget more than half these people are opportunists, going to sell immediately.

I’d say waiting in line for a few hours to make a $1500 profit is a lot smarter than whatever you were doing at that time.

with that outlook I can go around punching and kicking random strangers for spending money because I love being cheap.

this has nothing to do with loving video games, or the price of the system really. it’s about how these people are acting.

I haven’t read anything about girls punching, kicking and shoving each other to the ground in a justin timberlake concert.

Kevin… There are plenty of games you can play with a partner. Hubby and I often get co-op games, where you have to work cooperatively (using a split screen) to finish missions. Lots of fun. There are games you can play against opponents, too. I think it’s different strokes for different folks. We don’t enjoy RPG or sporting games, but we love shooters and survival horror.

All for a game system! You know what, by next X-mas, they’ll be cheap-er and far more abundant.

If you ask me, video games stopped being fun after the 1980s. Remember when they used to be fun little diversions, taking a few minutes or maybe an hour or two if you played multiple games. Remember going to the arcade with your friends and playing games against each other? Now that was fun.

I’ll still take a simple game like Pong or Tank (Combat on the old Atari 2600) against a human opponent. Anyone ever have an Atari 800 computer system? Those things were great because they were able to duplicate the great arcade games of the day perfectly.

Quite frankly, I couldn’t give a rat’s behind about the ever improving graphics. Just give me good game play.

Maybe I’ll pick up a used X-box or Playstation 2 and some used games and see what all the fuss is about.

i’d say $600 is a good investment if you’re going to turn around and sell it on ebay for $5000.

(my friend is a professional gamer. he’d pay that much if he had to…but he got it for free)

Just read that someone got shot while waiting in line for a PS3. Robbery is always wrong but waiting in line for a game system is stupid. Carrying $500-$600 in cash instead of a credit card is just as stupid. The only smart ones are the people that will turn it around for a fat profit. Paying $3,000 on ebay is ridiculous. Well, atleast you won’t get shot or trampled on.

We bought our PS2 shortly after they came out, and it’s still going strong (and we even used it as our main DVD player for years). Our XBox we purchased used from a friend, mostly to see how we liked it.

We definitely want to scoop up either the X360 or the PS3, but we haven’t decided which one. And we’re definitely waiting until the price drops!
