Dang, I Can Cook Better Than That
Posted by Cap in Even More Ramblings |Ever said that after you visited a restaurant?
“Dang, my wife (girlfriend, sister, mom, Bob) can cook better than that!”
It sucks. You’re paying money for something that you (or someone you know) can cook better. It’s even worse if you’re saying it at a “your bill is your first born” restaurant.
See, I know for a fact, that I can make a better salmon than Sizzler.

Me and the missus took up self defensive cooking years ago. Mainly because here in Atlanta, there’s no way you can get into a restaurant on the weekend and if you can the service is usually pretty bad. It’s just too packed.
We are both foodies and can usually outcook any restaurant on steak. We also got good at reverse engineering our favorite menu items. I’ll even doggie bag some home to figure out what the contents are. Yup, I’m in my mid 40′s and still play with my food. Mom would be ashamed.

Unfortunately, after I started cooking I started saying that a lot.

hehe, reverse engineer the food eh? hmm.
the solution is obvious, never learn how to cook! then everything will taste just awesome.

Just like how eating out is more than just the food, cooking is more than just the food. When you go to a restaurant, you can also enjoy the ambiance, the service, and how you don’t need to do any dishes. When you cook, you can enjoy experimenting and enjoying the process.
Personally, I enjoy cooking more than eating out but I also enjoy not doing dishes. :)
