Do-it-Yourself, You Might Like It
Posted by Cap in Even More Ramblings |You know how sometimes you have those cravings for a specific snack or food? Well, lately I’ve got the munchies for rice krispie treats.
So, instead of spending the dough on those boxes of Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Treats—which are insanely expensive for a box of eight—I went and bought a couple boxes of generic Rice Krispies and marshmallows, threw some margarine in and voila—rice krispies treats, enough to last me till November.
Obviously, making snacks or cooking for yourself will save oodles of money—but there are of course many other task that can be easily accomplish if you just do-it-yourself (and also save you mucho dinero).
Changing your own oil can save you lots of money overtime and isn’t incredibly difficult—but not everyone likes getting underneath a car. In retrospect, changing your engine’s air filter is very easy—but it’s something many people might not try, simply because it’s underneath the hood.
The trick is to find something that can be worthwhile and fun.
Here’s a final tip: trying to cut up harden, wood-like rice krispie into little squares because you didn’t put enough margarine in—is not fun.

I think the pre-made Rice Krispie treats are nas-tay, but I love homemade ones! Especially those produced by the fine food service at the University of Dayton – very gooey and delish!
