That’s what you’d call product placement! They don’t have enough advertising inventory for cars so they run crap like that — yahoo does it in their finance section for the weekends too. Lame if you ask me.

I noticed the “Retirement” and “College” links off to the right of the picture, maybe it is for those, in the midst of a mid life crisis or full-blown manic moment who figure “What the Hell, I’m just gonna blow all my retirement or kids’ college savings on a Mercedes SUV?”

Nothing says personal finance like paying the premium for a new car! I guess they assume it is a good investment because it “gets top rating!”

hm…i wonder how much did those car companies paid to have a news article. on the other hand, those suv look really nice! maybe i’ll go out and get one (uh oh, my imulse-buying is kicking in).

What a great illustation of the motive of north american society…….give me more money, make me look good, how can I get nicer things and then I’ll be happy! CNN obviously getting paid for this article…yeeesh.
