My Lexus Goes Well With My Shoe
Posted by Cap in Miscellaneous |I couldn’t believe my ears.
I was waiting at the local French bistro next to my college today, grabbing a $5 soup and a half sandwich. A lady pulled up in her brand new SUV (a white Lexus GX 470), got out and greeted her friend who was waiting by the door.
“Hey nice! It’s cute.” said her friend.
“Thanks, I love how it goes with my shoes.”
What the fu—dgesicle? I’m sure she didn’t buy it just for the match, but sheesh.
Damn rich people. They’re probably gonna order a full sandwich.

I own two, not because they go well with shoes but because they are great rides! You don’t have to be rich to own a lexus, either. You can get them surprisingly cheap. I picked up mine for $22k and my wife’s for $29k. Paying cash (as we did for both) helps . . . it gives you more negotiating room on the final price. YMMV.

the car’s definitely a nice ride, but yeah she really had me going there. It wasn’t a joke too, she said it as matter of fact.
eesh.

I once was at a fancy wedding at a Ritz-Carlton when this woman demanded that the waiter get her a new drink because the ice was melting. What?!?!? It was then I knew that if I ever became wealthy that I would become a closet rich person. I used to envy/hate those people until I read Millionaire Next Door and realized that they are probably living beyond their means.

This is why I have six cars. Also why I can’t buy any more shoes for now.

I just had to laugh at this one…LOL.

hmm… made me think. My civic matches my shoes… both are a few years old, black, and slightly scuffed.

*rawr*
same with mine. All banged up and scratched up. I need new shoes. mmm zappos.com time
btw Randy, 22k and 29k is a steal for a GX 470. Even with cash, you must be one heck of negotiator. I don’t even see used models from private parties going for that low. Definitely YMMV.

I’m sure Randy was referring to ‘a Lexus’ in general. An ES might be talked down to 22K with no options…Actually, I’m not so sure. But definitely 29K is doable.
You could probably talk a GX down to 40 if you’re really hot and have lots of cash hanging off of you.

C’mon Dave, an ES? Where you gonna find shoes to go with that?

well yeah, any car in general is affordable if you shop around.
lol, and yeah.. an ES? Might as well own a Camry :P (just kidding, they’re all fine).
