I would imagine that&#039;s meant to refer to a decrease in fuel efficiency as your speed increases (most efficient is usually 45-55).

I think it&#039;s like 2-3% less efficiency (mpg) for every 5 mph over 50, or something like that....</description>

		<description>Also, I always tell people to anticipate stoplights and accelerate slowly from intersection to intersection.  It doesn&#039;t use gas efficiently to accelerate rapidly just to have to brake seconds later for another red light.  Yet I see so many people in a hurry to get from red light to red light - what&#039;s your damn hurry?

I&#039;ve been complaining to my state DOT to get them to fix the poorly coordinated traffic lights.  Simply changing the timing and using lagging left turn signals during peak hours can significantly improve city gas mileage by eliminating more red lights.  Every citizen should take an active part in improving public infrastructure - CALL YOUR LOCAL TRAFFIC ENGINEERS!</description>
