Victim of the Economic Crisis: Circus Animal Cookies
Posted by Cap in Miscellaneous |
I didn’t realize this, but the 90 years-old company Mother’s Cookies closed doors abruptly early October and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (after being juggled between various owners during the recent decade). I’m not sure how I missed this news, but you can tell I rarely visit the junk food aisle at the grocery store (mind you, not because I’m a health conscious person — I’m just too much of a cheap ass at times).
Consumers can find solace in the fact that there are about half a dozen generics or similar offerings from other competitors. Although if you’re like most people, you won’t care much for the Type 2 Diabetes inducing snacks and probably hated me for posting this off-beat and delayed news.

I just found that out yesterday too, I’m devastated. How did we miss the news, I never heard a thing. We’ll try to grab a few bags while they’re still around. And no the knock-offs won’t do, only mother’s.

Oh no, this is awful news!! I haven’t bought them in years, but I can still taste how wonderful they are, um, were. This is sad news indeed and perhaps the capper to the state of the economy. No Mother’s Cookies?? No Circus Animals?? Whole generations will be deprived! Miss M is so right, knock-offs will NOT do!

I love pink and white Circus Animal cookies. My old roommate got me hooked. I can’t believe I haven’t bought them in years.

Yeah assholes. Just because of your horrible support of Circus Animal Cookies they are bankrupt. Thanks a lot! It’s all your faults and I am super pissed!
