All you frugal money type’s are my guru’s. You are. I’m not giving my age but I’ve definitely learned a lot from the delayed gratification thing. Best lesson in the history of the world.

The being ugly, though, is not inspiring. Going to take a pass on that one.

And paying off debt has been huge(or try to). If anything, you get fatter paychecks which you can spend how you wish. Okay, yes, this isn’t a newsflash. I just have to keep reminding myself of it as often as possible.

I can be frugal and fabulous, I can be frugal and fabulous. That’s my mantra.

The car wash thing works. I always wait to get a car wash an before I do it rains. It has been months since my cash has been ‘washed’.

Moneymonk: Ah. Classic statement that’s 100% true. If I couldn’t buy that car cash, I definitely couldn’t afford it. I won’t either, but yeah. Two week probation is even better. Now that’s will power!

Dude, you’re totally cheating. #1 is not frugal, it’s lazy. You even said it yourself, “I’m also not saying that you need to be ugly to save money, as there are plenty of savvy, frugal people out there who can dress sharp and still keep their wallet fat. I’m just not one of them.” Read: I’m lazy! :P

They say if you cannot buy a car cash, you cannot afford it. Cars are fickle sometimes you cannot wait to save, transmission breaks, engine wear down. I bought a used 3 year old car after my chevrolet prism engine went caput! I already forked over $1600 fixing this car. So I made a trip to my credit union, and paid it off in 2.5 years. When I do go into debt. I make it a short term debt. I say buy a car cash or finance it for a short term

Delay gratification is good, I give myself a 2 week probation period.
