What a bunch of pussies! Bottled water is the biggest marketing scam since the “Pet Rock”. Those of you who cannot leave your house without a bottle of water probably get the “shakes” if you get more than two feet from your cell phone. Can’;t miss that latest text from Buffy or Kyle. What self indulgent crap. Did you ever drink from a creek because you had too? I have and I am still here healthy enough to let you know just how soft and lazy you are. If you don’t think bottled water is a scam, next time you are at your local watering hole (convenience store)check and see if there is some beer cheaper by the ounce,
That is enough for all of you now. It’s time for your nap!

I guess if you speaking generally then this post is okay but i would have to disagree with it because you cant generalize everything. Sure maybe at the water supply its clean but some homes still have those old ass copper pipes and who knows how sanitary they are. I’ve been places and seen a COLOR DIFFERENCE in their water!!! Also i drink water at room temperature so i taste a difference in bottled water and tap water. I’ve been drinking filtered water forever so for all those saying “ah there is no difference” well there is. I have friends thats always trying to trick me and i always spit the water out cause of the tap taste. For me its all about taste, i’d drink tap if it didnt taste funny. If pepsi uses tap water in their bottled water then hey thats fine with me, as long as they get rid of that damn tap taste im satisfied.

cheap bottled water per day for drinking isnt that much in comparison.

policies so i may switch to a water filter. thanks

You only use a water filter for water your going to drink so your only paying .18 cents per gallon, way less then a bottle of water.

I love Fruit 2-o. Great stuff. But I look at it as a healthier relacement for soda, which I don’t drink at all, not a replacement for tap water.

Bottled un-falvored water? No way. Big time waste. If I want filtered so-called “spring water” I can always refill my empty Fruit 2-o bottle at the office water cooler. But I ain’t paying for it :)

I get my 1 gallon bottled water at Safeway when they have 10 for 10 bucks (but the catch is, you don’t have to buy ten…you buy one, its a buck!) and I just refill it over and over and over…..until the bottle is so wrecked (from taking it with me to work or the the gym) that I have to buy another….

so I spend about 6 bucks a year on bottled water

I have never bought a bottle of water, and I have no intention to ever do so. Beside the plastic and fuel costs to the environment, it is creating a dangerous situation for universal access to potable water at home and around the world.

I’m not a church going person, but I have to applaud the United Church for their recent leadership stance on the matter.

They say water is a gift, and a necessary ingredient for life. They say “What next, pay for air?”

People have become sheeple, allowing water fountains to be removed from public places. I blame governments on all levels for letting this happen, and to the dumbass consumers I see walking around with their one use plastic water bottles. Shame on us for not thinking past our own noses.

I used to spend too much money buying cases of Fruit20 to have for lunch at work. Now I just drink the water from the water cooler, which is free and tastes about the same (minus the fruit).

hmm gotta agree on discolored water.

if a water goes through all the purification in the world and still has some weird color to it, I’ll be mighty iffy about drinking it.

Agreed. Bottled water is one of the greatest scams ever foisted on the American public. There’s loads of data and reports showing domistic tap water is safer than expensive bottled stuff. In the mean time, as P.T. Barnum said, there’s a sucker born every minute.

Hong Kong: OK. But I live in Los Angeles, where the local water is perfectly fine. I still filter it, but that’s mostly to keep my wife happy. I never buy bottled water though unless I’m stuck with no other option. Not only is it a waste of money, it’s bad for the environment – the cost of creating the plastic, bottling it and then shipping water across the country in trucks or trains wats up huge amounts of fuel and puts the waste into the air.

Not only that – plastic bottled water tastes awful – it tastes like plastic. It’s one of the biggest scams out there.

The municipal water where I live is fine to drink, but the municipal water where I work is absolutely disgusting.

I fill up my water bottle before I leave in the morning, but that only lasts me so long. Then I switch to bottled for the rest of the day.

In some parts of the world I would agree with you. In others, even with a filter tap water is unfit to drink. Hong Kong (where I live) falls somewhere in between. We have had enough experiences with discoloured water etc to have decided to stick with bottled water. Filtering does not do the job.
