Sleeping in on Friday
Posted by Cap in Updates |Yeah I’m going to sleep in this Friday.
Not because of some anti-consumerism ideal about not spending any money on say Friday, but more because I’m lazy and scared of large crowds.
Yeah, I’m a bit tempted to wake up 5 in the morning, go to WalMart to grab one of those $378 laptop. But having to fight the crowd is just plain scary. Even scarier, I don’t need a laptop at all and I’m tempted. It would fulfill my dream of blogging from the bathroom. But that’s hardly a necessity. Yet.
Circuit City also has a Toshiba laptop for around $450 after rebate.
Anyway, sleeping in. Yeah.
Update: Looks like these laptops are in extremely limited quantity per stores. They might as well don’t exist, because it’ll be pretty darn tough to get ‘em. Sure got everyone hyped up though.

I am half considering getting up early Friday morning to try my luck to get one of those HP notebooks. I have already called a few of the surrounding stores to find out how many they have in stock. Unfortunately, a couple of the stores said they wouldn’t know until Friday morning. I will give an update if I am successful.

I’d just save the hassle and go to Dell.com and buy their entry level laptop for $399. If you can get in to their personal purchase program through your company, you can get it below $350.

I went to one of those friday morning store blowout sales at best buy. The line to get the computer i wanted was about 60 people long. After about a half an hour of waiting. Some guy came out and told us not to worry, they were already all gone… Lame.
I am trying to start a website that offers real consumer ratings of debt consolidation companies. Does any one have any suggestions of which debt consolidation companies are the best and which ones suck?

They didn’t run this promo in Wisconsin… the same laptop at Wal-Mart here was several hundred more. Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa all ran the special price. Not sure why Wisconsin was different…

john: same situation with my friends. they saw the lines and just kept on driving.
as for debt conslidation.. that’s a real tough call, its something each person should do research on an individual basis to see what works best for them.
savvy: yeah I read about that.. plus the prices are a bit different at some other location, like $488 in Hawaii (I think).
but yeah thats rather weird, must be whatever the analysis at walmart decided on. i read about towns with supercenters stocking 60 of them, while big city walmarts have as little as 15-20.
