You may like your blackberrys but your companies’ IT department hates them!! I have spent whole days fixing sync problems, dealing with forgotten passwords/pins, and updating software. The more advanced communication features and enterprise software controlling them are a pain in the butt. Just today the test unit we ordered arrived and although offered to me for personal use, I told them to forget it! Will keep my regular cell.

Everytime my grandmother comes to visit me, we have to make a trek to the DOWNTOWN Target store. My neighborhood Target is closer (and has better parking) but Grandma LOVES the TWO STORY Target with the shoping cart escalators.

I know she loves me, and likes to visit.
But sometimes I wonder if she’s here to see me, or visit her favorite Target Store!

They have the cart escalator at the Walnut Creek Target as well — first time I saw it, I was as amazed as you were! Very cool contraption!

alright guys, I totally have a great picture of the new phone via my digital camera, but I left it back in So-Cal and I don’t think I’ll drive back just for that… bummer.

Allura: e-books are a great idea. I DO indeed read sci-fi and fantasy (when I have time anyway), so appreciate the link.

misti is probably right that I live w/o all these fancy gizmo’s before, I can probably continue to live w/o them.

the plan Rich mentioned is pretty much same price as mine, $39.99 + $19.99 for data (first month is extra due to initial setup fee). Plus, unlike before when I had peon in minutes, I already used over 1,000 minutes for the month, since I’m now on the same network as many other friends.

The Target cart escalator is indeed the ultimate entertainment. Why write informative personal finance post when you can just take pictures of the cart escalator!! Woot!

Where I live doesn’t even HAVE a Tar’jay. The closest one is 10 miles away and it’s old fashioned. :-(

Oh, I love my Blackberry 8800 (similar but full keyboard). I expense it all through work so that’s completely covered for me. I have Cingular, which is GSM like T-Mobile, so if I leave my company and they want the phone, I pop out the SIM card and am on my merry way. Love my Blackberry! Can I say that enough?? Ok. Love it.

Target – We have one of those Targets near us. Neato, although you have to make sure you don’t stack the cart too high because there was a height bar it needed to go under to keep passerbys from riding the cart escalator. It makes me a little nervous so I usually take the elevator.

I love the cart escalators. They are really neat. The Target across of my parents’ gas station has one. Goofy, but neat.

As for the phone. I don’t know what to say. One of my friends has had a Treo for years, and man, Google Maps for phone really comes in handy! Be careful or you might get addicted!

Another use for that memory card is e-books. If you read sci-fi and/or fantasy, there’s the Baen Free Library, http://www.baen.com/library/ . They offer a number of books, mostly authors they publish, DRM- and cost free.

I work at a desk and have a land line, so my cell phone is a prepaid one. If you keep down the minutes, it costs between $7 and $9 per month to keep running. I don’t miss all those minutes or interruptions and people can still reach me when they need to.
